Magic Mushroom Dispensary Opens in Canada
Hundreds of Canadians are seeking out psilocybin, the hallucinogenic compound found in magic mushrooms, and shops are opening up to serve them. Some are looking for treatment for depression or PTSD; others simply want to “micro-dose” a small amount of the drug to change their consciousness. The mushroom boom is reminiscent of marijuana’s early days, but experts say there are important differences. URL https://magicmushroomsdispensary.ca/
KUNC reporter Chris Walters visited an illegal magic mushroom dispensary in Kitchener that opened Friday and encountered a handful of customers who were eager to shop for the mind-bending mushrooms. The Waterloo Region police service declined to comment on the store. The business, Fun Guyz, has two locations in the city and plans to expand. Its owner, James, wouldn’t provide his full name as the operation is technically illegal. He describes the business as a “medical protest,” saying the company is trying to push the limits of drug laws to make the substance more accessible.
Interview with a Magic Mushroom Dispensary Owner: Insights and Perspectives
Psilocybin tea, wind chimes and a tie-dye mattress await people who visit Epic Healing Eugene to experience what many users describe as vivid geometric shapes, a loss of identity and a feeling of oneness with the universe. The Oregon psilocybin service center requires clients to undergo a preparation session and sit with a facilitator who stays with them as they experience the effects of the drug. It also bars them from buying the mushrooms to take home, and it denies access to people who have active psychosis or thoughts of harming themselves.
