Services and Amenities at Rehab Lab
The more services and amenities a facility provides, the more it’s likely to cost. But while extras can certainly enhance a patient’s experience and provide comfort, what’s far more important to long-term recovery is an appropriate treatment setting that uses evidence-based approaches.
Inpatient rehab facilities are designed to allow patients to focus on their recovery in a safe, healthy environment free from distractions and outside influences. During the time they’re in residence, residents will usually follow a carefully crafted schedule that includes daily therapy sessions with trained professionals. They will also be able to enjoy a wide range of social activities and programs.
Services at Rehab Lab: Advanced Techniques for Better Outcomes
Some inpatient rehab programs use a therapeutic community approach, which is an approach to re-socializing people whose drug or alcohol addiction has severely affected their ability to function. These programs are generally longer in duration than residential rehab, and they may involve a mix of psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.
For some, Services at Rehab Lab are followed by long-term acute care hospitalization. This is typically the case for patients who have undergone serious physical trauma, stroke, or other debilitating health conditions. LTACs and IRFs provide 24-hour physician oversight and around-the-clock access to medical assistance if necessary.
These facilities are often equipped with advanced technology such as the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill, which enables weightless movement to rebuild muscle strength and increase range of motion in patients who have undergone orthopedic surgery or suffered from a spinal cord injury; and LSVT BIG and LOUD certified therapists, which are specially trained to develop customized speech and mobility programs for Parkinson’s disease patients.
