WBSO Subsidy

The Wbso government encourages companies to innovate by offering a tax benefit for their research and development (R&D) projects. It’s called WBSO (Wet Bevordering Speur- en Ontwikkelingswerk). It reimburses part of the wage costs and project-related expenses that are incurred. The scheme is applicable for any company, regardless of size or industry. It covers the development of physical products, production processes and software as well as technical scientific research.

To qualify for the wbso subsidy you must meet certain conditions, including accurate time registration. This is because you’re required to register the hours that your employees work on innovation projects in detail. This includes the project descriptions, the activities and the time spent on them. RVO (the Netherlands Enterprise Agency) regularly checks your administrative records to ensure they comply with the statutory requirements. Vectrix can help you make sure that your records are in order and that you can prove this during an inspection.

Maximizing Your R&D Tax Benefits with the WBSO Subsidy

If your administration is not in order, it will be difficult to claim the WBSO subsidy. Vectrix is specialised in WBSO and can offer you advice to improve your administration so that you can claim the subsidy.

We can also help you with the financial settlement of your WBSO application. This takes place either at a flat rate or on the basis of your actual labour costs and expenses. In the latter case you must keep meticulous records, because this will give you more scope to prove your claims in the event of an inspection by RVO.
